The service can be a rather slow here, especially at peak evening meal times, but the quirky wooden-spoon table numbers you get given provide a few minutes entertainment.
The range of food available is quite good, and we always find something for even the pickiest eaters in our family to enjoy. The prices are reasonable too, and there's a quiet little been garden with half a dozen tables available. There is also a children's area that is adorned with pictures of the pubs very own little mascot too (Captain Caulk or something along those lines, the exact name escapes me at the moment), it's a pretty cool idea though, and keeps the kids entertained!
This is another venue which I can very highly recommend for a sunny day trip out as it's only about 2 minutes drive and walk from Sandown beach too. -

This pub is now owned by the same people who run the Fort Holiday park since earlier this year.
If you're staying at the holiday park you get a 10% discount when you show your keys.
Retro music plays inside but not too loud.
The regular portion meals are like kiddie sized meals, large sized meals are good enough. A number of the local ales are available on tap & cider.
They also have regular quiz nights & other charity events, there were plenty of pictures around the pub showing these.
